NOTICE OF PLANNED PROCUREMENT THE CORPORATION OF THE COUNTY OF PRINCE EDWARD Contract: PEC-BLD-0184-2024 Long Term Care Facility Build NOTICE POSTED: July 12, 2024 PURPOSE OF THIS NOTICE: The Corporation of the County of Prince Edward (“the Municipality”) under its obligations to provide open, transparent, and non-discriminatory access pursuant to Annex 19-1 and Annex 19-6 of Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) and Article 103 and Article 504 of the Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA) is announcing that it intends to undertake a Request for Tender process to seek bids from experienced and qualified vendors to undertake the construction services for a New Long-Term Care Home. The new facility is approximately 120,000 to 125,000 square feet, ensuring roughly 750 – 780 square feet per resident bed, which is in line with design standards and best practices. The design focuses on creating private spaces, vibrant resident home areas, communal spaces, support services, and shared functions. Additionally, central and shared community areas, administration services, and staff amenities are being carefully considered to foster a warm and inviting environment for residents and staff alike. The new Residence will be constructed on an open section of greenfield land to the West of the existing H.J. MacFarland Memorial Home at 603 County Road 49, in Picton, Ontario. The project aims to create a contemporary environment comprised of a series of Resident Home Areas (RHAs) that offer dedicated facilities as well central services and amenities for Residents. The Residence is a combination single storey and two-storey, 160 bed facility massed as double-stacked wings to the South connected to a central form and arranged into five (5) distinct RHAs of 32 beds each. The primary organization of the new Residence is as follows:
Location: The Civic Address for the new Long Term Care Home will be. 90 Finnegan Drive Picton, ON, K0K2T0 POTENTIAL BIDDERS: The Tender is expected to be posted publicly in August of 2024 with an anticipated closing date in September 2024. All interested potential Bidders will be invited to submit responses to the Tender once issued. The Tender documents will be posted and may be viewed for free on Bids&tenders at thecounty.bidsandtenders.ca. As described within the bid document, once released, only electronic Tender submissions shall be accepted and received through the Municipality Bidding System by the closing date and time stated above. Without exception, potential Bidders that do not submit responses to the Tender, by the submission deadline stated within the Tender document will not be considered. GENERAL: The Municipality assumes no liability, responsibility, or obligation whatsoever to any potential Bidders or other parties with respect to any aspect of this Notice. The Municipality has no obligation to reimburse or in any way compensate any potential Bidders or other parties for expenses incurred in connection with or resulting from its receipt, review, or response to this Notice.
